Hi,

Does the scanner work with Windows Fax and Scan?:

Start > type scan > click on Windows Fax and Scan > New Scan

Are you able to scan?

It looks like then the issue is with the Brother software.

What happens if you try to scan to either file or email?

Do you get an error message?

Can you do the following to open your temp folder:

Windows Key + R > type %temp% in the "Open" box > OK

Can you locate the following files in the temp folder:

TWAIN.LOG

Twain001.Mtx

Twunk001.MTX

Twunk002.MTX

Can you delete these four temporary files and see if it helps.

Thank you for your assistance but did a complete uninstall and downloaded a new installation and that seems to have fixed it. Why it didn't do it before I don't know?
